First Insta-Friday

Happy Friday to you!  This is my first time participating in Life Rearranged's Insta-Friday.  I love Instagram.  I'm not a photographer, almost all of the pictures on my blog are from my phone, so this is great fun for me.  Here is my week via Instagram.

Have a fantastic weekend!!

Wow! It's Wednesday!

What a crazy busy week this has been!  I can't believe it is already Wednesday, I haven't even done the Weekend Recap yet this week.  I will get to that now.

The biggest event and accomplishment this weekend was the arrival of Patriots Junk Removal on Saturday morning.

They came and picked up all of this.

And they were fantastic.  Patriot Junk Removal recycles as much as they can that they pick up so it was nice to know they were just going to go dump all this stuff in a land fill.  They picked up what was left of the construction junk, a few small old TVs that needed to be recycled, lots of boxes and much much more.  They have great prices and they give a discount to veterans.  Nice.  I am not a vet but the husband is.  The two gentlemen that arrived to remove this junk were ex-Navy, so of course the husband had lots to talk to them about.  The guys were awesome, quick and cleaned up the space when they were done.  We will be calling them again when we clean out the attic.

In other weekend news my storage bench arrived.

Love.  I am very much looking forward to having everything finished and being able to do before and after posts of the rooms in the house.  Patience.

A cool front came through Houston this weekend.  I think it is funny that they call it that on the news.  It really meant we were having lower humidity, our highs were still in the low 90's.  I will be honest though, I really liked it.  It was so nice out.

Sammy approved.  It meant her family enjoyed sitting out on the deck throwing the ball for her even more so they stayed longer.

Happy girl.

She also enjoyed Sunday night football.

lol

The absence of humidity and the lower temps also made my walks across the campus of the University of St. Thomas much more enjoyable.  Monday and Tuesday were beautiful.

I had to pause for pictures to extend my walks.

This morning the humidity is back.  Sigh.  My mom's favorite quote from the weather man on high humidity days is, "Going outside today feels like you are being hit in the face with a wet mop."  It wasn't that bad this morning, but it wasn't great.

On the happy list for the week: getting the rest of the items packed for donation out of the house.  I delivered donations to 3 locations at lunch yesterday and I will be heading back to one of them today to take the last load.  Our friends are opening a resale store in the Houston Heights; they are calling it Style Cycle (super cute right?).  Anyway, I have lots of vintage purses and some clothes and a very cute lamp to drop off to them today.  I think it is so funny that the Dooney & Burke and Coach purses I collected in high school are vintage now.  I try not to think what that means about how old young I am.

My lunch time victory yesterday:

as posted on my WW online community page

I'll take it.  The accomplishment at lunch time today will mean ALL the donation things are out of the house.  The painter will be back tomorrow morning to paint the dining room.  Yay!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Wonderful Wednesday and Weigh In

Do you know what's great about a three day weekend?  A four day work week.  It is already Wednesday and I am more than okay with it.

I have been very reflective last night and this morning.  As the fall begins I am noticing that I have many friends going through huge life changes.  Some of them very exciting and some scary and sad.  There are deaths, twins on the way, divorce, apartment hunting, child support issues, wedding planning, and several new homes to warm with parties.  Life has all kinds of twists and turns.  It makes my September calendar picture more than perfect.

Thank you Mary Engelbreit

I like plan B.  I know most people's lives don't go according to plan.  If they did, we would all be much more boring.  However, with faith and patience you seem to always get to where you need to be.  To all my friends no matter what life is challenging you with currently take a deep breath and have faith.  Love and hugs to you!

Wednesday is now my weigh in day since I am back to logging everything online with Weight Watchers AND since my scale has been located and unpacked.

Good deal.  I am down 5.3 lbs since rejoining weight watchers.  Slow and steady.  I did make a couple of drive through visits this week, but I watched portions and even ordered a kids meal at one of them.  Imagine what kind of progress I can make if I cut those out entirely!  I know the beauty of a weight loss plan like weight watchers is that you can allow for those indulgences.  I still like to wonder what if.  :)  I have been great about the gym.  I have gone at least 3 times for the past few weeks.  Let's see what this weight watchers week has in store for me.

As you might know from yesterday's post it was my niece's birthday.  My sister shared this fantastic picture of her on Facebook yesterday and I of course stole it, ordered a print of it for my house, and must share it with you today.

My seven year old.  Yes, mine.

I was talking to Chelsie on the phone yesterday evening wishing her a happy birthday and hearing about her day.  I always joke with my nieces about what grade they are in and how old they are.  I do the how old are you now?  20?  16?  You get the idea.  Last night while I was talking with Chelsie I was doing that to her and she was laughing and right after I guessed 16 she says, "NO!  Seventeen!!" I laughed and she said, "No, seven!"  It was funny.  We are silly girls.  She reported that she had had a wonderful birthday and she got to choose what was for dinner and she and the family were going for sushi.  Good choice, Chelsie, good choice.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!  Anyone else doing any fall reflection?

Weekend Recap

Hello September!

I hope you enjoyed your long weekend.  I would love to welcome some cooler temperatures along with welcoming the new month.  I will keep my fingers crossed.  The rest of this week is going to be hot.  Ugh.

We got a lot done this weekend, but before we go into that...

Happy happy birthday to my niece Chelsie!!!!  I love this beautiful girl!  Have a great day Chelsie!

This weekend involved lots of unpacking, organizing, cleaning out and repacking.  Lots of fun right?  We got all the various holiday decorations packaged into large plastic containers and stored in the attic.  Getting that organized was a huge accomplishment.  We also got lots of items loaded up for donation.  I did find a couple of treasures as I unpacked the few remaining boxes.  I found my jewelry box and all my jewelry making supplies.  Yay.  And look at these shoes I found.

Didn't even remember these...like Christmas!

We won't be able to call the den the box room much longer.  So exciting!

Friday my sis-in-law came over for dinner and brought me a present.

Cute, right?

Saturday I got packages!  I love getting packages.  I'm crazy, I know.

These are heading to the gym with me at lunch!

Sammy's new collar.

I am already looking forward to next weekend, is that wrong?  We have some people coming to pick up all the paper trash, construction trash and odds and ends that we have left and take it for recycling.  It will be nice to have the garage and piece of the driveway cleaned out!

Progress makes me smile!!  How was your weekend?
