Jewelry!

Last week I told you about a benefit that was held for a friend who is recovering from a brain aneurysm.  There was a silent auction as part of that benefit and I wanted to share with you some of the jewelry I made for the auction.

I was really feeling the turquoise and red color them when I was at work, so I embraced it.  This piece I was strung on beading cord and finished with clam beads and a lobster clasp.

The pendant and earrings were made with non tarnish silver wire with wrapped loops.

The earring hooks are sterling silver.

The second set I made was also threaded on beading cord.

I finished it with cone beads and wire wrapped loops.

I really like that finish.

I was worried that the pendant bead would look awkward because it didn't lie flat, but I really loved it.  I paired it with simple non-tarnish loop earrings.

All of the pieces I donated sold and what's even better was that they were for a great cause.

Accessorizing and helping someone in need; it's a win, win if you ask me!

I hope you are having a lovely Wednesday!

Weekly Finds

Let me introduce you to my new friend.

Clinique Cream Liner

I don't know about you, but I have been searching for the perfect eye liner.  I may have found it.  This is a cream eyeliner so it is thicker and easier to control than a liquid, but has a little more color and presence than a pencil.  I purchased it in Deep Brown and it was my inspiration to do a little makeup post.

Here are some of my other recent makeup finds:

The Saint palette by Kat Von D.

Mac: False Lashes Extreme Black mascara, blush in Pinch Me, and shadow in Brule

I used the Mac brule shadow on my lid and the Kat Von D pray for me in the crease/corner.  I highlighted with the Kat Von D heavens near my tear duct and enjoy the silence on my brow bone.

I lined with the new Clinique cream liner and added the Mac mascara.

I purchased the brush separately.

I am loving this eye liner!

I love playing with makeup.

Enjoy your day!

Weekend Recap

We had a crazy Saturday that involved work and hospital time with the MIL who had her gallbladder removed.  Sunday was a lazy laundry and manicure day, it was awesome.

I have been loving this sparkly nail color from Sally Hansen a lot.  It's called Snow Globe.  This weekend I put it on over Essie's Ladylike.  I kind of love it.

I was planning on doing some planting on my deck this weekend, but Sunday was kind of rainy, so I napped during laundry time instead.  Who doesn't like rain and nap time?

I did manage to plant ivy in my pot that I painted at The Mad Potter a few weeks ago.

It will make my office a lot cheerier!

I hope you had a great weekend!!

Weekend Recap

Over the weekend the husband and I attended the Healing Hands Benefit for our friend Arianne.

(source)

You may remember her from this post and this one.

The out pouring of love and support for Ari at this event was humbling, touching, and just plain amazing.  Look at all these people!

And this was early in the day.

There was barbecue, bands,

and a live and silent auction.

It was fantastic.

By far the very best most heart warming part of all of this was seeing Arianne there.

She is a survivor.

Hands down the best part of the day.  I mentioned in my previous post that this aneurysm struck during a time when Ari was without health insurance.  This benefit was set up to help her with some of her growing medical bills.  If you are a friend who missed the benefit or a fantastic stranger who wishes to help a wonderful woman; you can still make a donation through the link on the Healing Hands for Arianne blog.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well.
