Insta-Friday and My Birthday

Happy Birthday to me!!  And happy my birthday to you!  :)  If you are a fellow 4-11 baby, happy birthday to you!!  I hope you have had a great week.  We have had gorgeous weather here in Houston. 

That's the Contemporary Arts Museum, look at that beautiful sky.  That was on Wednesday, we have a few clouds today, but it is still great.  I think the husband and I will be touring this museum later today since I have the birthday afternoon off!  :)  I love a Friday fun-day!

This week has been busy, busy; but so nice as well.  I loved my Monday yoga break.

Time with my green yoga mat makes me happy.

Thursday was the 5th anniversary of this sweet girl coming home to me.

Love, love, love my Sammy!!!  The husband brought her home for my birthday that year.  My birthday was Easter Sunday that year, so I got to have my present on Friday.

She was so tiny!  Best present ever.  She keeps giving and giving.

In honor of birthdays and looking back, here are some fun pictures of me as a little one.

My office family is showering me with love; cards, presents, brownies.  It is shaping up to be an awesome day.  I will of course continue celebrating all weekend.  Why, not?

Insta-Friday

Oh, it is one of my favorite days of the week.  It is Friday and it is also Friday Funday (I only work a half day today).  If that were not enough, it is also Insta-Friday.  Let's check out the week via my Instagram feed.

I was all about spring this week.  My deck and patio are ready for the season and I just enjoy being out there taking in my hard work.

I love these English daisies.  These were a very exciting discovery for this daisy lover.  I had never seen these before.  I just planted the majority of my plants last weekend and this week I can already see that they've gotten bigger!  I love spring.

The inside of my house has not been forgotten.  It is decked out for Easter.

I am still trying to decide where these cute burlap flowers are going to land.

I think a lucky lampshade might get embellished.

Insta-Friday

It has been an interesting and weird week, but hey it's Friday...so let's celebrate!  Let's start with spring!!

 

This was on my daily calendar on the first day of spring, and I think it is perfect.  I approve, Mary Engelbreit.

My daisies were confused this winter, since we had so many freezing cold days, they spent lots of time on my heated sun porch and every now and then a flower would bloom.  Well, I think they know it is officially spring now...

...well done, daisies.  I needed your bright yellow-ness this week.

At home other than flowers blooming, I did some decorating with some fun new items I picked up last weekend.

I love this space at the end of my hallway so much now.  You can see all my items in my Weekly Finds post.

In dog news, Rumba blogged for me on Wednesday.

And one of my previous guest bloggers, Novella was featured in my Pupdates because she is out of the kennel and in a loving foster home now!  I'm so happy for this sweet girl!

Both of these sweeties are available for adoption through Red Collar Rescue.  In fact, if you are in the Houston area you have the opportunity to meet these girls tomorrow at the Adoption Meet and Greet at Petmart (1907 Taylor St.).

I did a long awaited french manicure on myself this week.

Long awaited because my nails have been so short there was no point in even trying.  Now they are a respectable length to try and pull one off.  I used Essie blanc and allure with OPI top and base coats.  It has lasted almost the entire week!

Wow, this week has been crazy.  I am happy it is Friday even though it is a busy one.  Let's review!

I have the house decked out in stars and stripes for the summer and I am loving it.

I need to finish one last thing for my mantel and then I will feature it on the blog.

My sister posted this great picture of my dad on Facebook from her wedding.  Sunday was Father's Day so I have been thinking about my dad a lot this week.  

I still miss him everyday...I'm such a daddy's girl.  :)  Love you Dad!

I finished my chalkboard pantry door and I love it!! 

My grocery list has never been cuter.  I can't wait for my nieces to see it next week.  They will have fun with it.

The husband and I have been riding our bikes in the evening and one night it rained on us.  It was fun to ride in the rain.

We weren't dancing, but we were living.  :)

Sammy is always very happy it's Friday...look at that smile.

Happy Friday friends!!!  I don't know about you, but I have had a crazy busy week and I am so happy the weekend is here.

The week was exciting though...I launched a new blog with the husband called Wells Live Well.

It had been in the planning stages for a while and I am happy it is live.  It is a healthy living blog that will chronicle our lives as we get back in shape.  There's a new recipe up there today for baked tilapia.

Yum.

I have definitely been in the summer mood this week.  We all went swimming at our friend's house.

My new Mary Engelbreit mouse pad came and my office desk is now in the spirit.

And I so wanted one of the pelicans I saw at HEB.

But I resisted.

I have been trying to teach my mom how to text message on her new phone that the husband and I got her for her birthday.

She says interesting things.  LOL

Insta-Friday

Happy Friday!  Today starts our summer schedule at the office so we close early on Fridays.  Yay!  I am off at noon.  I just wish I was feeling better, I am a little congested...I think there may be a nap in my future.

Let's celebrate Friday by taking a look at my week through my phone.

We had a Mardi Gras staff appreciation luncheon at UST.  It was jazzy.  I wore fun heels and a mask.  I made a wreath for my office door with the photo booth pictures.  It was fun.

My friend Roberta had a birthday.  There was a happy hour with homemade party hats and a birthday girl crown.

Sammy napped a lot.

We have tiny jalapenos on our plants.  I have already picked our first tomatoes.

I took some bored morning selfies.

Exciting week, right?  LOL.
