Our Bedroom Before and After

Our bedroom is a work in progress, but after a coat of paint, light fixture update, and decorating it is still a pretty awesome change.

I went with the striped quilt as a bed cover that I mentioned in my house ideas post.  Sammy sleeps in the bed with us and it is just practical to have something that is cute and washes easily.

Similar to other rooms in the house we have family antiques.  This chest and dressing table are both from the husband's grandmother.

Our little sitting area is compliments of my grandparents.

In the future we will replace the dresser with a built in shelving area that serves as storage and an entertainment center.

My parents transformed the porch (which back in the day was a screened in outside porch) to a sun room.

I like the idea of having this room attached to our room, but also like the idea of darkness while sleeping so we incorporated some black out drapes.  Best.  Idea.  Ever.

There were many photo bombs committed during the picture taking for this post...

but only one dog toy was injured.

Poor bunny.
