This Wednesday is super wonderful because I ran my dishwasher last night!! It made me happy to empty some of the clean dishes (well mostly cups and silverware) this morning. Total excitement, I know...almost too much to handle.
Look what arrived yesterday and came out of the dishwasher this morning!
Daisies!! What a perfect tervis tumbler for me! The funny story about this tumbler is that I searched and found their website because I was looking for how many ounces the large tumbler I had was. My goal was to make one of those crystal light packets in it and I wanted to know if I could use the whole packet. Anyway, I had no idea they had so many designs. I ordered this one for me and one with peace signs all over it for my niece.
The same day I discovered their site a high school friend of mine changed her profile picture to a picture of herself with her new tumbler. According to the comments on her post she has somewhat of an addiction to them...I do too now that I discovered their website. I am in good company. I posted this picture on her FB page this morning. LOL. Yes, I am easily entertained.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

We're Cookin' Now
First things first...Sammy is home from her weekend at her favorite place Bed and Biscuits.
I was so happy to see her! She was worn out from all the playing.
Second and SUPER exciting...I cooked dinner in MY kitchen last night. WOOHOO!!!! I hit the grocery store at lunch and grabbed all the goods for a gigantic salad with Skinny Taste's White Balsamic Vinaigrette. I also picked up some chicken breast tenders which were an adventure to cook in a not completely unpacked kitchen. It wasn't until I had them out of the package and was trimming them that it occurred to me that I had no idea which box all my spices were in. Almost cooking fail...but rescued by my favorite marinade...Allegro! Thank goodness I had a bottle in the fridge.
I served it all up on a very fancy paper plate. Hopefully I will get the rest of the kitchen unpacked in the next couple of days. The only things left to be done in the kitchen are the back splash tile, swapping the faucet out, and a few odds and ends.
It is still cluttered right now, but it works! The shelf which is skillfully holding a cutting board at the moment is where the microwave will go. This whole counter top is a new addition to the kitchen. This was kind of dead space before.
I am loving how the breakfast room cabinets turned out. I love the hardware. And there is a table in the breakfast room now. I know...crazy talk.
We enjoyed dinner at the table last night. We were fancy...or at least it felt kind of fancy. The husband called the right to cook dinner tonight. I suppose I will let him use MY kitchen. :)

Weekend Recap
After the excitement of the counter tops arriving on Friday, I hit the road for a weekend in Gruene, TX. I met the husband at the Gruene River Inn where we spent the weekend.
The Inn was super cute, had river access and all the rooms had balconies with a view of the river. Plus they served breakfast, so it was kind of like a bed and breakfast. The breakfast options were great...waffles, bagels, breakfast tacos...I opted for potato and egg tacos.
Friday evening we enjoyed local wines at the newly opened winery in Gruene.
Saturday morning we enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the balcony with a great view and then we headed down to the river and relaxed on its banks.
Saturday afternoon we went in to New Braunfels and did a little Christmas shopping.
Okay, we didn't really Christmas shop, but I couldn't resist a Christmas Story reference. We found this in the hardware store.
We had lunch and local brews at the Faust Hotel and Brewing Co.
In the evening we relaxed by the river and again Sunday morning had coffee with a great view.
We didn't hang around too long before heading home on Sunday...Daniel was excited to see the sink and counter tops!
I can't wait until the back splash and my new faucet go in. Today they are finishing electrical, hooking up the plumbing, and hooking up the stove. We will be cooking tonight!
The grocery list is ready for my lunch hour!
