Jewelry!

Last week I told you about a benefit that was held for a friend who is recovering from a brain aneurysm.  There was a silent auction as part of that benefit and I wanted to share with you some of the jewelry I made for the auction.

I was really feeling the turquoise and red color them when I was at work, so I embraced it.  This piece I was strung on beading cord and finished with clam beads and a lobster clasp.

The pendant and earrings were made with non tarnish silver wire with wrapped loops.

The earring hooks are sterling silver.

The second set I made was also threaded on beading cord.

I finished it with cone beads and wire wrapped loops.

I really like that finish.

I was worried that the pendant bead would look awkward because it didn't lie flat, but I really loved it.  I paired it with simple non-tarnish loop earrings.

All of the pieces I donated sold and what's even better was that they were for a great cause.

Accessorizing and helping someone in need; it's a win, win if you ask me!

I hope you are having a lovely Wednesday!

Weekend Recap

Over the weekend the husband and I attended the Healing Hands Benefit for our friend Arianne.

You may remember her from this post and this one.

The out pouring of love and support for Ari at this event was humbling, touching, and just plain amazing.  Look at all these people!

And this was early in the day.

There was barbecue, bands,

and a live and silent auction.

It was fantastic.

By far the very best most heart warming part of all of this was seeing Arianne there.

She is a survivor.

Hands down the best part of the day.  I mentioned in my previous post that this aneurysm struck during a time when Ari was without health insurance.  This benefit was set up to help her with some of her growing medical bills.  If you are a friend who missed the benefit or a fantastic stranger who wishes to help a wonderful woman; you can still make a donation through the link on the Healing Hands for Arianne blog.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well.
