Fostering Part III

Wags has found her forever home!  Despite her rough start she is a lucky girl who was rescued repeatedly by a long list of people who adore her.

What's not to adore?  She is without a doubt one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met.  The husband and I took her home to her forever parents last weekend.  Why am I just now posting about this?  Well, there was a teensy amount of emotions involved.  Wags had been home with us for 4 months.  We were attached and it is hard to write blog posts with tears in your eyes.  It makes typing and proof reading a challenge.

So, what are my thoughts on this whole experience?  Let me tell you...better yet, let me tell her.

Oh, Wags...I am SO happy for you, but I will and do miss you.  It was such a fun journey with you.  When you first arrived you had no idea what to do with a toy.  You appreciated my offerings and you stashed them in your brand new bed.  If nothing else, you were definitely organized.

You love that bed.  You were so thrilled to have a cozy spot to call your own.

It was a pleasure working with you and watching you grow.  Yes, you could frustrate me like no other, but it was all worth it.  Your coat got so glossy and shiny; and your eyes lit up over the months.  You are a happy girl; always ready to give kisses and snuggles.  I love the snuggles.

Me loving the snuggles.

Thank you for teaching my timid Sammy how to be more brave.  You really helped her come into her own.  She is a new and improved dog since you've been around; and despite the bumps at the beginning you quickly became her best friend.

You even showed her that there was a world out the window.  She never used to look out the front windows, but now she does.  Each time Sam puts her paws up on the window sill or lets out a bark at the mail man, I think of you.

Listening in two directions.

Sammy showed you what to do with those toys!  You sure enjoy a good game of tug and love to pounce on a bouncing ball.

It was so fun watching you girls play together.

I love you Wags, this has been such a wonderful experience.  Thanks for being my first foster dog and making this so unforgettable that I want to do again and again.

You will always be my Wagamuffin.

Pictures of Wags with her forever parents will be coming soon!  I love them, they are fantastic.  They are perfect for Wags AND they live in the neighborhood.  There will be play dates happening.

If you'd like to read my other posts on fostering you can find part one here and part two here.  If you have ever wanted to foster an animal, I think you should.

Here is what I think might be my favorite of all my Wags posts.
