Kittens are People Too

There are lots of dogs on this blog, but the rescue world has plenty of feline fur kids that need homes too.  I've asked various cats to guest blog for me, but you know how they are.  They aren't ones to do tricks on command.  Lucky for them I am willing to do the work on their behalf.

Every now and then you will see cats available for adoption through rescue groups like Red Collar Rescue, but you can ALWAYS find cats and kittens available for adoption at your local shelter like the Harris County Animal Control Shelter.  Currently one of my favorite rescue friends has become a cat lady!!

She has opened her home to 4, yes FOUR, kitties from the Harris County Shelter.  I promise we haven't teased her at all about this, especially not after her last birthday.  :)

Who wouldn't want 4 tiny fur balls to love?  I remember the text I received the day she picked up these babies.  She had intended to bring one kitten home.  Her text said, "I picked up my foster kitty today."

"And three others."  Oops.

"Mowse"

Look at that face!!  You understand why she brought home all 4.  You are falling in love too, aren't you?

"Mew, mew."

I love that this little girl looks like she knows she is modeling.  Work it sweet kitten.

"Please to put me downz."

If you are interested in meeting one of these bundles of love, contact me at emadw@emasgrandideas.com and I will put you in touch with the cat lady.  She will be fostering these guys for another couple of weeks until they are big enough for adoption.

"I'z planning mah pounce."

Harris County is always looking for people willing to foster.  You too could be a temporary cat lady (or gentleman).  Here is some information for you if you are interested in fostering:

I promise you that being a foster is a rewarding job.  There is no greater feeling than saving a life, working with an animal, and seeing them get their happily ever after.

  1. What adorable babies. Mom would really like to foster, but the eight of us have ganged up on her and said, "no way!" We hope these little darlings find terrific forever homes. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  3. We foster kittens! It's the best job - the tough part is giving them up BUT you get to foster more of us kittehs! We even fostered a senior but he became a #FosterFail (don't think he's too unhappy :-)

  6. Oh, those kittens are absolutely adorable! I've been so tempted to adopt a kitten from our local shelter, but we live in military housing which has a two animal limit. Can't wait til we move so we can add another furry friend!
