Back to the Gym

I got my behind back to the gym today.

Took my shoes too.

And I must admit that I am so happy!  "I regret that workout," said no one EVER.  See, still holds true.

Whenever I would start to touch the machine during my workout, I would hear Jillian Michaels' voice in my head from Sunday's Biggest Loser yelling at me not to.  Thank you Jillian.

See you tomorrow locker room...now it's time for lunch!

A big old Caesar salad with my new favorite dressing from Bolthouse Farms.  It's a good day.

Wonderful Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I for one am happy it is Wednesday because I am already ready for the weekend.  I spent last weekend sick in bed for the most part, so I am ready for a weekend where I get a few things done around the house.  Don't tell anyone, but our very crisp Christmas tree is still up in our house!  Also, don't mention that I still turn the lights on when I am in the living room.  :)

How are your new year's resolutions?  Mine are still intact and I am happy.  As much as I enjoy the holidays, I am happy to be back in a routine.  I love coming home and cooking dinner and I have been doing a lot of that the past two weeks.  Yay.  I have already seen 3 lbs melt off and I am happy about that.  Last night for dinner I made chicken, roasted broccoli and a big old Caesar salad.  Let me introduce you to my new friend...

I found this guy in the produce section at my grocery store while I was shopping on Monday.  I bought it in hopes it might be okay, well it is great.  The bonus?  It is only 1 weight watchers point + per serving and the serving size is 2 tablespoons!  Now if I could just get my gym routine back down, I would be in business!

Speaking of tasty things, I wanted to share a new recipe with you.  I made Zucchini Squares on New Year's Eve and I thought they were great.  I found the recipe in an old holiday appetizer magazine that I had.

Thank you Kathy Lewandowski!  Your zucchini squares are yummy!  I created the recipe on Weight Watchers online and they are 2 points plus per square.

Zucchini Squares on the NYE table.

As far as Wednesday goes, that is all I have to report.  Enjoy your day!

Party Pics

Part of yesterday's post was all about the New Year's Eve party decorations and details.  Today it's all about the people.

Thanks for coming everyone.  The husband and I had a great time celebrating with you!

Sam did too.

Holiday Recap

Happy New Year friends!!

We had a fabulous holiday filled with travel, family, work, friends and fun.  It was a fabulous season...I am sad it is winding down.  I want to relive it through pictures now.

We went to Hattiesburg for Christmas.  Sammy was a great passenger.

"I love Hattiesburg."

The husband got smothered in love in the morning we arrived.

Sweet Nieces

Chelsie had really changed a lot since I last saw her.

Silly Girl

My sister had several trees up in her house.  This was the girls' tree.

Santa was good to me.

Fun stocking stuffers.
Necklace from the husband.

Christmas night we all stayed in and enjoyed a cocktail.

Girls night in.  :)

We had to leave the day after Christmas and head back to Houston...I was bummed our trip had to be so short, but I had important work to do while the campus was closed.  We had a big project go live over the holiday and if you work in IT, you know you try to only interrupt production systems when there are the least amount of users in the system.  For college campuses that's when they are closed.

After working for a while (23 hours to be exact), the husband and I switched gears and started to get ready for our New Year's Eve party.  I am not going to lie.  I had a great time decorating for the party.

I made a wreath for the front door.

Stole this idea from pinterest.  Loved it.

Ready to party.

We got champagne glasses on the cheap from Target for our midnight toast and fun hats and tiaras from the party store.

I set it all up on the dining room buffet for our guests.  Since this party was also our housewarming party I included before pictures in each of the rooms in the house.  You can see the dining room before picture on the far right above.

I set up the bar on the new counter top in the kitchen.  This new addition is close to the freezer making ice very convenient.  Awesome.  The cocktail I offered for the night was a bellini and I made it on a grand scale and put it in my grandmother's punch bowl.  I floated frozen peaches it in.  It was a huge hit!

I set out the food on the opposite counter and the breakfast room table.  On the menu: pulled pork sliders, grilled bacon wrapped shrimp, sausage and cheese dip, green bean salad, zucchini bites, cheese board, and hummus and goat cheese dip with veggies and pita chips for dipping.  Yummy!

Sammy was exhausted after the party.  :)

I hope you had a fantastic holiday as well!  All the best to you in 2013!!
